June 2014 Summary


June continued the fine run of centuries in 2014 and did so despite a busy month overall and puts me at the mid point of the year almost guarantees that last year's records will be beaten.

A spectacular start to the year continues and means the goals for the year can all be met inside the 12 month target.


June Ends With Minecraft

After finishing Deadlight, I moved on to a new game I had on my to-do shelf in the shape of Minecraft and after getting to grips with the premise of the game came away with ten unlocks on what is a very interesting game.

Getting WoodTaking InventoryTaking Inventory (10G) unlocked after performing the simple task of opening the inventory and was soon followed by Getting Wood (10G) for punching a tree and receiving a block of wood.

Time to Farm!BenchmarkingBenchmarking (10G) unlocked after crafting a workbench using four blocks of wooden planks with Time to Farm! (10G) popping up after combining planks and sticks to create a hoe.

Time to Mine!Cow TipperTime to Mine! (10G) unlocked after combining planks and sticks to make a pickaxe and was swiftly followed by Cow Tipper (15G) for harvesting some leather.

Time to Strike!MOAR ToolsMOAR Tools (15G) unlocked after constructing one type of each tool and was soon joined by Time to Strike! (10G) for combining planks and sticks to create a sword.

Getting an UpgradeMonster HunterMonster Hunter (20G) unlocked after attacking and destroying a monster with the session coming to end after Getting an Upgrade (15G) popped up for constructing a better pickaxe.


Deadlight Completed

After only playing the game by chance when browsing my game library, I must admit it was a pleasure to play Deadlight and as a result, I am very proud to have completed it and did so by unlocking the final two achievements which made it my 33rd completed game and seventh of 2014.

I want it allForget Me NotsForget Me Nots (25G) unlocked after finding all of Randall's memories with the aptly named I want it all (30G) popping up for reaching 100% completion on the game.





Deadlight Shows Identity

Pickin' Up StrangersA quick go on Deadlight resulted in a single unlock in the shape of Pickin' Up Strangers (20G) for finding all of the ID's.



Deadlight Story Complete

Holding out for a HeroUnder pressureA long evening session on Deadlight resulted in seven unlocks which also saw the completion of the story mode which was quite difficult but also good to play over the week. Under pressure (15G) unlocked after completing Randall's nightmare with Holding out for a Hero (5G) popping up for reuniting with Stella.

Come Sail AwayTainted loveTainted love (25G) unlocked after finishing Randall's flashback and was soon followed by Come Sail Away (5G) for reaching the end and in turn completing the story.

No Pain, No GainLet there be rock!Let there be rock! (20G) unlocked after beating the score in Raven Thunder Rock Legend and after a quick search around another level, No Pain, No Gain (20G) popped up for beating the score in Sport Daisy.


Invisible Touch
The session ended with Invisible Touch (20G) unlocked for beating the score in Madness Mansion and in doing so left just three achievements left before what would be a superb completion.


Deadlight Finds Friends

Never Gonna Give You UpLazing on a Sunday afternoonAn hour long session on Deadlight resulted in two unlocks beginning with Lazing on a Sunday afternoon (5G) for facing someone from Randall's past in the park while Never Gonna Give You Up (5G) popped up after finding Parker in the Hockey arena.

Deadlight Exploring

Don't Lose Your HeadFlirtin with DisasterA long evening session on Deadlight saw a lot of exploring and as a result a lot of unlocks with a haul of 11 coming from the session. Flirtin with Disaster (10G) unlocked for tackling an enemy with Don't Lose Your Head (15G) popping up after killing an enemy with a single melee attack.

JumpSpreading the diseaseSpreading the disease (10G) unlocked after being infected by a friend on the leaderboard while Jump (15G) popped up for rolling to avoid lethal fall damage.


In the Army Now
Rust in peace 
In the Army Now (5G) unlocked for reaching the military control with Rust in peace (15G) popping up for performing a headshot.



Wanted Dead or AliveGoodbye strangerGoodbye stranger (10G) unlocked for pushing an enemy over a railing and was soon followed by Wanted Dead or Alive (15G) for reloading the Revolver rapidly.


Land Down UnderIs there anybody there?Is there anybody there? (15G) unlocked after completing Randall's dream ans soon joined by Land Down Under (5G) which popped up after following Ratman to his den.



What You NeedThe session ended with What You Need (15G) which popped up for finding the first health expander.

Deadlight Begins

During a browse of my game collection, I noticed that having downloaded Deadlight as the monthly free game a while ago that i had still to play it ans went on for an hour long session that resulted in seven unlocks.

Knockin' on Heaven's DoorI Ran (So Far Away)I Ran (So Far Away) (5G) unlocked for escaping the warehouse and was soon followed by Knockin' On Heaven's Door (10G) for tackling a door.



Go back to hellAnother one bites the dustAnother one bites the dust (10G) unlocked for performing a combo on an enemy and soon joined by Go back to hell (10G) for executing an enemy.



Welcome to the JungleThe session ended with the unlocking of Welcome to the Jungle (5G) for reaching the Junkyard.
