Aero Fighters Final Landing Ahead Of A Warboats Hit

The play session from Friday on ACA NeoGeo Aero Fighters continued with the last two unlocks of High Score 200,000 points (80G) and High Score 300,000 points (100G) reached meaning an eighth game completion of the year. Only the former was required on Warboats and sadly another MISS.

Next up was a quick play on Astroneer with the unlock of EXO Dynamics Outreach Participant (10G) for joining or hosting an online session which proved tough as the server isn't too reliable. The unlock proved its worth on Warboats with a first HIT.

Play moved on to Penarium with some work needed to reach the intended unlock, two levels were passed before the one needed was completed resulting in the pop of Cheer Up Kiddo! (20G). After the earlier Warboats success, this one followed in its path with another HIT and a good location of the first boat.
The day's play ended with a move over to Tomb Raider Definitive Edition which has a total of six unlocks listed on the Warboats grid so will be played a fair amount in pursuit of some of the harder ones. Today saw just the unlock of One Smart Cookie (20G) for finding one optional tomb.

TA Warboats Challenge Sees Gaming Reunions

After a long time of many different post types, the daily returns with Friday 15 Jan with the gaming choices boosted by the announcement of True Achievements' Warboats challenge starting for a second year.

The challenge as you will see in tomorrow's post is to a Battleship style challenge with five boats on an 8x8 grid. The game chosen to begin the challenge was Tiles with the unlock of choice being Making Progress (50G) for completing the second page of local levels. Sadly resulting in a MISS on Warboats.

Browsing the grid, I spotted two potential unlocks on ACA NeoGeo Aero Fighters so play focused on Caravan Mode 200,000 points (80G) which was followed by Caravan Mode 300,000 points (100G). The latter was the unlock needed on Warboats but again it was a MISS.

The other potential unlock on the game has been attempted at the time of writing and the result will feature in tomorrow's post.

Completions Continue With Rewards Challenge Success

This week saw the Microsoft Rewards 10k Challenge continue with the starting of Lanternium.

Jan 8th saw 12 unlocks on the above for a total of 800 G. The last few levels of the colourful puzzler took more effort than the earlier ones and meant that the completion moved into the 9th.

This day saw the last unlock for a total of 200 G and moved the total completions for the month up to five.

The next day saw another new start in the form of Without Escape which proved to be a fairly short completion with 12 unlocks for 1000 G. The game itself is a point and click but with a horror theme to it.

The final part of the 10k challenge saw the starting of Hardcube, a game that truly lived up to its name as some of the levels proved very difficult with some taking between 20-25 minutes to plan and complete successfully. The progress itself saw eight unlocks for a total of 570 G.

The following day saw the game completed with yet more difficult levels passed in the early morning for a total of five unlocks for 430 G. The day's progress saw the month's total completions move to seven with the goal of one per week in 2021 going strong with seven weeks done in that sense.

The final game of the week was Doug Hates His Job which is one I have been looking at for a while and due to its being on sale recently, snapped up as its quite an interesting game. The first day of progress saw 11 unlocks for a total of 700 G.

The week came to an end with the final three unlocks for a total of 300 G and brings the totals for the month to 182 unlocks for 13,045 G. Also as the new board layout makes it easier to produce the images, a return to the old way of daily posts should begin with tomorrow's progress on the 15th.

Completions Aplenty Open 2021

After falling massively behind with this blog, a decision to reboot for 2021 overruled trying to even try and catch up the backlog so here is Week One of 2021.The year began with play on Mushroom Savior.

The opening day of the year as mentioned above began Mushroom Savior with a good session resulting in seven unlocks for a total of 800 GPlaying saw the progress from the first to seventh level with ease.

The next day saw Mushroom Savior continue with five further unlocks for a total of 900 G.

The third day saw a change with play on the recent Game Pass addition in Tetris Effect Connected. Play involved entering 'The Zone' for a total of ten minutes with around 90 seconds possible per zone so this unlock for 15G took a fair amount of effort to achieve.
After yesterday's play on Tetris Effect Connected, play resumed on Mushroom Savior with a single unlock of 200 G.

Today's progression saw the completion of 20 of the games 30 playable levels meaning completion was within reach.

The first completion of the year was accomplished on Jan 5th with the final two unlocks on Mushroom Savior totalling 200G.

This involved finishing all 30 playable levels and in doing so defeating the Evil Tree which took a number of attempts.

A new game for the year but one played a lot in previous years is World of Tanks which has had a number of name changes and updates with the latest making gameplay and the menu layouts a lot different and sadly worse than the previous iterations.  Play today saw three unlocks for a total of 30G.

The week ended in style with the Microsoft Rewards 10000G challenge in full swing with three starts and three completions. First up was Cold Silence which saw a total of 60 unlocks for a total of 1000 G. The game is a platformer and one of the Xitilion group as are todays other two games which are famous for being edited and re-edited after Microsoft issues.

Next up was the duo of Castle of No Escape and its sequel Castle of No Escape 2. The original game saw 20 unlocks for 3000G. This one is a top down room explorer with play limited to a grid style.

January- April Catch Up

After beginning a backlog catch-up at the start of the year, 2016 has seen a gigantic lull in blogging updates with gaming suffering the most. The catch up has finally begun and starts with monthly summaries only while the daily/weekly statistics are being collated which has taken a long time with such a backlog.

January

Continuing from where the opening blog for the year left off, January started 2016 in good form with 152 unlocks to extend the run of 100+ per month.

The platform was 122/30 so a huge domination for the 'current gen'. Just one completed game this month in the form of Cubot -The Complexity of Simplicity.

The other totals saw a haul of 7783 TA with a 7148/635 divide while the gamer score saw a total of 4800 G with a split of 4325/475.

The first gaming goal of the year came on the 22nd as I finally reached 250,000 TA.

February

February continued the good start to the year with a slight reduction on January with 141 unlocks to extend the run of 100+ per month.

The platform split was 133/8 which saw not only a huge domination from the 'current gen' but a sorry total for the X360 era.

The other totals saw a haul of 6196 TA with a 6027/169 divide while the G achieved was 3535 with a split of 3415/120.

No game completions this month though sadly but there was success in terms of goals with 8000 unlocks reached.

March

March continued the run of 100+ unlocks for the year but with a slightly lower total of 111 overall.

The platform split was 96/15 meaning another month dominated by the current gen but one which saw the figures for the non X1 platforms improve.

The other totals saw a haul of 6419 TA with a 5539/880 divide while the G achieved was 3600 with a split of 3110/490.

A single completion this month in Lego Marvel Super Heroes.

April

April just about continued the run of 100+ unlocks for the year with a slightly lower total of exactly 100 unlocks.

The platform split was 62/38 meaning that the non X1 platforms formed over a third of the total for the first time in 2016.

The other totals saw a haul of 6385 TA with a 3994/2392 divide while the G achieved was 2405 with a split of 1950/455.

A single completion this month in Riptide GP2,

This summary was originally started earlier in the year but after such a backlog of writing and blogging has taken until November to complete.

The next post will see May-August catch-up but the timescale of publishing is unconfirmed at present.

January Begins In the Past

Back to the Future: The Game - 30th Anniversary Edition achievementsHopefully, the proposed weekly posts I tested in the back end of 2015 will be caught up in time for February but it's been said before so there is no guarantee. January began with a single achievement on the first day as I continued on Back To The Future on the Xbox One for 15 G.

Back to the Future: The Game - 30th Anniversary Edition achievementsChild of Light achievementsThe session continued into the following day with two further achievements on Back To The Future before starting on Child Of Light on the Xbox One which saw two further unlocks taking the total for the day to four and 90 G.

Jetpack Joyride (Win 8) achievements
Goosebumps: The Game achievements Jan 3rd saw a long awaited return from Jetpack Joyride (W8) which produced a single unlock before a huge debut for Goosebumps- The Game (X1) which resulted in ten unlocks making the day's total 11 achievements for a total of 215 G.

Rare Replay achievementsGoosebumps: The Game achievementsThe session on Goosebumps- The Game continued into the 4th with seven further unlocks before the return of Rare Replay (X1) resulted in a single unlock bringing the total to eight for a total of 175 G.

Spectra achievements Jan 5th saw the return of Spectra (X1) which was started back in Nov 15 and the return saw six unlocks for a great total of 200 G. The game has a good balance between point-to-point driving and retro graphics.

DiRT Showdown achievementsThe first backward compatible play of the year came on the 6th as Dirt Showdown (X360) raced in for a debut of nine unlocks for a total of 100 G and what a great game it is to play despite its age!

DiRT Showdown achievementsCompleting the first week of 2016, Dirt Showdown continued from the previous day and for a game that came out back in 2012, I'm puzzled as to how I had never known I owned it as it was a Games With Gold download just unsure as to when. The session resulted five unlocks for 60 G bringing the weekly total to 39 achievements for 795 G.
